Dr. Jay Samant

Dean of Academic Affairs - High School to College Connections at Community College of Denver

Tisha Chapman is the Vice President of Student Services as Emily Griffith Technical College. She has worked in higher education for over 20 years. Prior to working for Emily Griffith Technical College, she worked in the Colorado Community College System for over 10 years in the areas of Financial Aid, Admissions, Records and Recruitment.  She has served on the Denver Foundation Civic and Education Committee and served on the DEAN Leadership Committee. She currently serves on the Denver Scholarship Foundation Steering Committee and the Emily Griffith Foundation Board.  She has also taught at the Community College of Denver and Metropolitan State University of Denver in Human Services as well as the GED program at Emily Griffith Technical College. 


Tisha has extensive experience in developing processes that produce positive outcomes and build cohesiveness among departments and external partners. She is a strong champion of creating policies and procedures that support students both in and outside of the classroom.

Dr. Jay Samant immigrated to the U.S. during his childhood, and has been an educator for the past 15 years. He is currently serving as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs - High School to College Connections at the Community College of Denver, and has served as a former Director of Academic Readiness College Success, a High School Principal, Founding Assistant Principal, District Leader in Special Education, and as a former Special Education Teacher. 


Through his leadership experiences in K-12 and higher education, Dr. Samant is an experienced professional in developing the vision, mission, and goals in K-12 and higher education, inspiring faculty pedagogy for student learning through instructional leadership, developing staff culture rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and building robust programming through innovative initiatives and progress monitoring. 


His passion, expertise, and involvement in the community has led to his nomination and being the recipient of the 2023 ColoradoBiz GenXYZ Top 50 Young Professionals Finalist, Binghamton University’s Bearcats of the Last Decade 10 Under 10 Alumni Award, and  

Rocky Mountain's Finest Young Professionals for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
